QUICK FORMS HELP MENU PAGE Page of
File Extensions indicate type of Form
.FMS - A Form that already has been made and may or may not be filled in.
.FM_ - A Master Form
.FM@ - A Form that has been saved by Quick Forms in an Ascii format.
These forms do not have any formatting (such as bold, italics, etc.)
Fill In a Form - Open any Form in FILL IN Mode. Once a form has been made in
the MASTER Mode, it may be filled in in this mode. All
characters of the Master Form are Protected and cannot be
written over except the Underline Character.
New Master Form - Start a New Master Form.
Edit Master Form - Edits a Master Form. If a .FMS or .FM@ form is opened and
saved in this mode it will become a Master Form with the
.FM_ extension (the old files will still exist). All
characters of the .FM@ (or an Ascii File) will become
protected. However, when a .FMS form is loaded in this Mode,
the unprotected characters (if any) will remain unprotected.
It is not recommended to load .FMS forms in Master Mode (see
the manual).
Delete a Form - Deletes a Form or File.
.COM and .EXE Files cannot be deleted.
Exit - Exits to DOS Pressing CTRL X will also exit to DOS
The bottom of the Page shows the Files in Alaphabetical Order. There are two
pages for a total of 100 Files. If there are more than 100 the count
will show >100 in light red. Only 100 files can be shown.
Use the cursor keys to select a File.
ALT H - Is always available for Help.
Help is context sensitive. That is it will be given for whatever
area of the program that you are in.
ALT C - Will allow you to change the path or drive so that you can load and
save files from different paths and drives.
ALT F - Toggles back and forth between Quick Form Files and All Files (only
100 can be shown). When All Files are shown you can load any Ascii file
as long as it fits the parameters of 63 rows by 136 columns maximum.
ALT P - Use to select the Printer you are using. If you can't find yours,
experiment to find the one closest to it. Selecting PLAIN PRINTER
will work on almost any printer but will only print the Ascii
characters and will not support Bold, Italics, etc.
ESC - Will cancel any activity that you are doing.
When saving a MASTER FORM a .BAK file will be made if the form already exists.
When saving a form in FILL IN mode or saving as an Ascii file a .BAK file
will not be made.

formating (Bold, Italics, etc.)
On the right of the screen will appear the Printer that is currently selected.

The Path is limited to 36 characters. If your Path is longer than this the
whole Path may not appear. If this is the case use CTRL-E to erase the Path
and enter the Drive letter with a ":" (this is the same as the default Path).
For example if C:\FIRSTDIR\SECONDDIR\THIRDDIR is the default Path then
C: would be the same thing. (see your DOS manual)
You must have a valid Path before you can exit.
If you get too confused just enter a ? to return to the default Path.
Warning - If your computer has only one floppy drive (A:) DO NOT try
to change the Path to Drive (B:)

name back to what it originally was)
QUICK FORMS HELP NON CONFORMING FILE Page of
The limits to a Quick Form are 63 Rows by 136 Columns.
Quick Forms will attempt to load any File that is not a .FMS or .FM_ File
as if it were an ASCII File. (.COM and .EXE Files will not be loaded)
Since the maximum number of characters in a Row is 136, Quick Forms expects to
find a Carrige Return and Line Feed by the time that the count reaches 137
in each Row. If this condition is not met then the File is considered to be
non conforming and loading stops. However if the ASCII File that you are
loading has more than 63 Rows, the File will be loaded but only the first
63 Rows.
Be Careful when loading any File other than a Quick Forms File.
Make Sure that it is an ASCII file that you want to edit using Quick Forms.
